I recently had the pleasure of going on a backcountry hut trip in the stunning Sierra Nevada mountain range. The trip was a wonderful mix of different conditions, from spring corn skiing to ice and powder skiing. The highlight of the trip was skiing fun lines down the side of Frog Lake cliffs, which we fondly referred to as the Frog Eyes.
On the first day, we were treated to an incredible spring bluebird day. The sun was shining bright, and the snow was perfect for skiing. We took full advantage of the conditions and skied some of the most beautiful terrain I have ever seen. The views were breathtaking, and the entire experience was one that I will never forget.
On the second day, the weather took a turn for the worse, and it got much colder before an incoming storm. The skiing wasn't as great as the first day, but we made the most of it. We spent much of the day inside, playing cards with friends and eagerly awaiting the incoming snowfall.
On our last day, we woke up to six inches of fresh, fluffy snow. It was the perfect way to end the trip. We packed up our things, cleaned the cabin, and set off to ski for the day. The snow was fantastic, and we made the most of every minute on the mountain.
One of the best parts of the trip was the amazing community of people we met along the way. Everyone was friendly, supportive, and passionate about the outdoors. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to share their love of skiing and the mountains.
Overall, the trip was an incredible experience. The scenery was stunning, the skiing was epic, and the community was unforgettable. I can't wait to do it all again soon!
